Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized massage technique, developed in the 1932's by the Danish practitioner Dr. Emil Vodder, which is now widely recognized and practiced in America and Europe.
MLD employs very soft, slow and rhythmical movements that produce powerful beneficial effects by stimulating the lymphatic system, aiding the circulation of nutrients to body tissues and enhancing the removal of natural waste products.
MLD has a calming effect, decreases stress, lowers blood pressure and reduces pain. It stimulates the immune system, detoxifies the body and generally enhances well-being.
Additionally, MLD ameliorates fluid retention, discomfort during pregnancy, swelling and pain following injury, sinus problems, puffy eyes, migraine, and raises the low energy levels associated with ME and post viral fatigue. It also reduces scarring, acne and other skin conditions.
