How long before my treatment starting time should I arrive?

For a relaxed and unhurried start to your Tamarind Springs experience, we advise to arrive at least 30 minutes before your stated treatments starting time. However, to make the most out of your experience in the two herbal steam caves, rock pools, and forest relaxation area, you are welcome to arrive earlier and use the area longer.

In order to as much as possible customize your personal massage program, please advise our staff on your individual needs and any special requirements you may have.

Our spa operating hours are from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

* In the event of late arrival, your treatment time or even your reservation might be effected.

Can I take pictures inside the spa area? What about mobile phones?

Our spa environment is one of tranquility and relaxation. We therefore ask you to switch off your mobile phone and leave it and your camera in your locker, or even better, in your hotel safe. Please respect the privacy of other guests, enjoy the gentle forest sounds around you, and allow yourself to be completely immersed in the moment.

I have heard about your famed steam caves & rock pools…what can I expect?

Our two unique herbal steam caves provide an ideal way to prepare the body for your treatment. Heat soothes muscles, increases circulation and melts away stress. The three cool forest plunge pools are a refreshing contrast to the hot steam, an experience you are likely to remember for a long time.

What shall we wear inside the spa? Do we need to bring anything?

We respect traditional Thai standards of modesty - everyone wears traditional Thai-style sarongs or loincloths in the steam and in the pools. You don't need to bring anything along, unless you prefer to wear a swimsuit. For massage, we will again provide you with a traditional Thai style outfit. Disposable underwear, slippers and a basket for carrying any personal items will also be supplied.

I’m pregnant. Can I come for a spa treatment?

We have a specially designed massage treatment course for expectant mothers. We advise that you skip the herbal steam caves if you are pregnant, especially during the early months of pregnancy. As we take the health & safety of mother and child very serious, we do not offer any of our other treatments to expecting mothers. Please inform our reception team as to your individual needs.

I have a particular medical condition but am not sure whether I should to visit your spa

Kindly advise us of any health conditions, allergies or injuries when making your reservation.

Can I bring our children to Tamarind Springs?

We have no childcare facilities and are unable to offer treatments to anyone under the age 14 years.

Is there somewhere safe to leave valuables at the spa?

Our locker rooms are comfortable and attractive with hot and cold showers and all amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap. A personal locker is at your disposal. However, we advise that your leave all your valuable items in your hotel safe, prior to visiting the spa as we are not responsible for any damage, loss or stolen items.

How do I get the best results from a facial treatment?

To ensure the best possible results during facial treatments, we advise all our male guests to shave prior to their spa day with us.

Do we need to book in advance?

Advance bookings are highly recommended to secure your preferred treatment time.

Reservations should be made at least three days in advance by internet, phone or in person and will require a non-refundable deposit to make a confirmed booking.

What if I need to cancel unexpectedly?

If you need to reschedule your bookings, we require 24 hours’ notice. Please note that as we can be fully booked in some seasons, rescheduling is entirely based on availability. Please use the phone, not the internet/email for any short notice changes. Non-arrival will incur the full charge on your deposit. Please note: for group bookings, do not make a booking on behalf of your friends if you do not want to incur their cancellation charge. Please note all prices are subject to change.

Do you provide a pick-up and return service?

Tamarind Springs provides complimentary return transport for all bookings above THB 10,000. For smaller amounts we can also pick you up at your hotel and drop you off after the treatments, at reasonable rates. You can enquire about our transport service over the phone or request it using our online booking form.

We don’t have a great deal of time for a full package but would still like to visit. Do you offer shorter packages/massage only packages?

The Tamarind Springs experience is an extended visit to a special place, finding peace & relaxation in beautiful tropical surroundings, and enjoying longer massage treatments that have been fine-tuned for optimum results. In principle, freeing up at least 4 hours for your visit is highly recommended, and the Steam & Dream element is part & parcel of the experience, and essential to get the best relaxation and treatment results.

Occasionally, we accept guests who skip the steam, such as expecting mothers, people with medical conditions, or in low season when we can better accommodate such special requests. Please feel free to contact us about your special request.

Please note we do not offer 1 hour massages.

We would like to attend in a large group (or hen party). What can you offer us? What about discounts?

We often welcome large groups, including bridal parties, birthday groups and others. You can find more information right here.

For bridal groups we offer 3 specially designed hen packages, discounted for a group of at least 12 people – contact us for details. For other packages we offer discounts only for very large groups, and at our discretion.

What is your signature/most popular treatment/what treatment do you recommend?

Massage is a very individual and subjective experience and it’s difficult to recommend a particular treatment without first finding out about the person’s unique needs and preferences. We therefore offer a range of massage options, from Eastern to Western techniques.

We also ask all arriving guests to complete some questions about their massage habits, goals and preferences, and medical conditions, so we can give advice if required and brief our therapists to adjust their approach to the stated requirements. Do you have internet at the spa?

Yes, our reception and 9 Seasons Restaurant area has free Wi-Fi.

Can I purchase a gift voucher to give as a present to someone?

Yes, a spa gift voucher can be a lovely and unique present for many occasions.

We can issue a gift voucher. The voucher recipient can then contact us later for their preferred date and time (the voucher valid for 12 months). Let us know the name of the gift recipient(s), and which package you would like to gift…we will then advise with payment instructions and send you the voucher as pdf.

Do you offer special deals/discount for Samui residents?

Yes, we can issue a resident card for Samui residents which offers a 15% discount on specific packages and at specific times. Please contact us for more information.

Do you offer manicures/pedicures?

Regrettably we do not offer manicures or pedicures

Do you provide any food or drinks with the spa package?

Yes, we provide some small but healthy and tasty vegetarian snacks during your spa session, normally after the steam & pools and before the massage treatments. The snacks are usually vegetarian spring rolls, tofu cakes, fresh fruit and a selection of refreshments (water, coffee, tea, ‘Tamarind Cooler’)
